West Ham have been on the hunt for a midfielder this summer as Graham Potter’s side continue to struggle in the transfer window.
Last season’s loanee, Carlos Soler, has returned to Paris Saint-Germain and has left Potter in need of added depth in midfield.
West Ham looked dead and buried in the transfer window until Mohammed Kudus was sold for £55million, and they managed to add El Hadji Malick Diouf to their ranks.
However, the Hammers again look to have fallen down the wayside, and supporters have been left frustrated.

Stuttgart in talks to sign Fabio Vieira
Arsenal’s Fabio Vieira had been someone that West Ham were considering bringing to the London Stadium this summer.
MORE WEST HAM STORIES
The Hammers had added the Portuguese international to their shortlist of midfielders, but he now looks to be heading elsewhere.
According to transfer expert David Ornstein on X (4 August), Stuttgart are pursuing a deal to sign Fabio Vieira from Arsenal.
Across all competitions, Soler made 33 appearances for West Ham (with 15 of those as a starter), contributing one goal and one assist
Vieira played in 42 matches for Porto across all competitions, scoring five goals
The 25-year-old attacking midfielder spent last season on loan at Porto and is expected to depart the Gunners permanently.
If West Ham are to have any hope of signing Vieira, they must now move quickly or face the possibility of missing out on yet another signing.
West Ham dealt potential transfer blow
The Hammers have already suffered a lot this summer.
Multiple targets have come and gone, with supporters growing more and more frustrated.
After missing out on Vieira, the Hammers could step up their interest in Juventus’ Douglas Luiz.
Luiz is understood to be available for transfer this summer, with the Italian giants looking to recoup some of the £42.3million they paid for the Brazilian.
The Irons have been in competition with former manager David Moyes for the former Aston Villa midfielder, though with Everton set to sign Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Potter’s side are looking favourites for Luiz.
