'I think there's a chance now': Craig Hope shares how Newcastle insiders really feel about Park …

Newcastle United youngster Park Seung-soo was arguably one of the standouts of their pre-season tour of Asia.

Indeed, Newcastle United have endured a difficult summer but the performances of Seung-soo would have offered supporters some welcome relief during a challenging few weeks.

Clearly, pre-season games are difficult to judge. They are entirely different to life in the Premier League, so it’s important not to get too carried away.

Still, positives have been hard to come by this summer during a window in which they’ve signed only two players. With that in mind, the fact that Seung-soo has impressed Newcastle fans during his first few appearances for the club is a bonus.

As such, the Newcastle United coaching staff are set to run the rule over the teenager even further.

It remains to be seen if he can force his way into the first-team squad over the coming weeks and months.

What Eddie Howe has said about Park Seung-soo at Newcastle United

Heung-min Son sent a brilliant message about Seung-soo after Newcastle drew 1-1 with Tottenham on Sunday.

The outgoing Spurs legend hopes the Newcastle youngster becomes an even better player than him in the future, which is certainly a tall order for anyone.

Eddie Howe has also been impressed. After the Spurs game as the tour was coming to a close, the Newcastle United manager said: “I’ve been really, really impressed with him.

“He’s coming into our training very quickly. Almost thrown into some game situations and I think he’s done really well.”
