Everton ‘Bid Rejected’ for Player Who Tottenham Hotspur Valued Same As James Maddison Fee

Everton have had a particularly active summer transfer window so far, already bringing in four new players with a fifth set to be confirmed. They will be hoping to push for a top-half finish, after a few seasons of mediocrity nearer the bottom-half of the table. David Moyes appears to be the man capable of doing this. Improved Offer Still Not Enough for Tyler Dibling Move

David Ornstein, of The Athletic, has revealed that Everton have made a second bid for Southampton’s wonderkid, for a fee in the region of £40 million. Their first bid for Dibling was rejected, which was only around £27 million. Fellow Premier League outfits Aston Villa, Fulham, and West Ham had also been reported as interested in the winger.

Southampton will stick to their valuation of over £40 million for the whole package, which is unsurprising given that they had priced him at £100 million not too long ago. The Toffees may go back in, as it was reported after the first bid that Dibling was keen on a move to Goodison with the opportunity to play regular Premier League minutes.

It could be likely that Southampton attempted to get a higher price from the North London outfit than Everton, as they would’ve likely had more funds.
