With just weeks till the start of the new season, there is still some transfer business Leeds United need to resolve. The most important will be finalizing incomings.
The club still have plans of adding a few new players this summer. Leeds have already brought in seven new signings, but could be forced to add more in light of recent developments. Head coach Daniel Farke complained about the piling injury problems with just over a week till the start of the new season. The German also complained that the squad needs new signings in the attack.

According to Spanish outlet Diario de Sevilla, Real Betis have ‘reached an agreement’ with Mateo Joseph. The Spanish club seem to have made a deal in principle with the player, sorting out personal terms. But Betis are yet to even submit talks or open negotiations with Leeds United.
It was reported earlier that Betis were not keen on paying the asking price, and would opt for a loan. It is going to be interesting to see how the situation is handled with weeks till the start of the new season.
Leeds are still firm on their stance that they will determine the future of the player, as long as he is under contract.
Daniel Farke gives verdict on Mateo Joseph
Joseph was in the stands for the Villarreal friendly but did not participate on matchday. When Leeds boss Daniel Farke was asked about the situation, the German has now made his stance clear – Joseph is not in his plans.
“We also spoke about the situation before, during the training camp, and how much we value him and about his decisions,” said Farke. “He has made his decisions anyhow, that he didn’t feel ready to train with us and to travel to Stockholm. He wasn’t ready to travel with us to the training game and also play the games. And then, of course, we can’t afford then in the group – a group is excited and focused and concentrated on preparing and stepping up for Premier League level right now we can’t then afford a member in the group who is perhaps distracted or not really fully committed and for that at the moment, he’s definitely not in the plans.”
Joseph made crucial mistake that Gnonto avoided
Mateo Joseph should shoulder the blame in this situation. He refused to show up and work when his future was being sorted. Now, his situation is up in the air. Wilfried Gnonto did something similar, but came to his senses and apologized to Daniel Farke before being allowed to return to training. Now, the forward is a key part of the team.
Leeds need to resolve this issue soon.
