Manchester City Extend Midfielder’s Contract Until 2026

Manchester City have announced the contract extension of Laura Coombs, who will remain at the club until June 2026. Coombs joined City ahead of the 2019/20 season and has since made 135 appearances across all competitions, scoring 21 goals.

A consistent presence in midfield, Coombs has had a major influence both on and off the pitch. She played a key role in helping City win the Women’s FA Cup in 2020 and the League Cup in 2022.

“It feels good. Last year, it was a bit of an up and down year for me injury wise and then to have the backing of the Club and another chance to have another successful season with the Club has meant a lot to me. It feels like there’s a lot going in behind the scenes and not just what you see on the pitch

“I feel like it’s a really good time to be involved with the Club and it’s a really exciting time. The Club’s only going to go one way so I’m very happy to be here.”

Manchester City have confirmed the signing of Sydney Lohmann from Bayern Munich. The move wasn’t entirely unexpected, as fans noticed her shirt was available in the club’s online store even before the official announcement. Lohman is 25 years old and brings a wealth of experience to the club after nine years with Bayern Munich.

The midfielder made her debut for the Germany senior team in 2018 and has since earned 39 caps, scoring six goals. Her most notable achievements include winning the bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics and reaching the final of Women’s EURO 2022. She recently competed at [Women’s EURO 2025](https://womenfootball.blog/womens-euro-2025/) with Germany.
