The game against Villarreal revealed a lot for Leeds United this weekend. Head coach Daniel Farke had a lot to say after the 1-1 draw.
A lot of things are going on behind the scenes at the club. Leeds were missing up to five players for the game against the La Liga side due to injury. Farke touched on that, and explained that the team needs more additions after the recent injuries to players.

“We are two weeks away from the first game. I can’t guarantee that for the first game everything is really ready and we are fully equipped.
“We definitely have to make sure that latest after the first international break we have really a competitive squad for the Premier League.
“We are not anxious but fully aware we need to do something.”
Leeds had planned to add a new winger and a center forward, but no concrete offers have been made. The club lost out of Igor Paixao to Marseille last week.

Leeds United set to move for Bilal El Khannouss

Last week, Leeds held a meeting with Leicester to discuss details over a move for El Khannouss. It was then revealed that the attacker had a release clause. Reports suggested that the Whites were keen on triggering the clause, but till date, nothing has been put on the table.
Africa Foot are reporting that Leeds have presented a contract offer to El Khannouss after a meeting with his agents. This means that a bid will be submitted to Leicester in the coming days.
Daniel Farke speaks on chase for new striker
After the Villarreal game, Farke addressed the reports about plans to add a new center forward. According to him, quality in the position is much better than numbers:
“I’m not crying for too many numbers anyhow but it’s obvious in all offensive positions we definitely need reinforcements to improve us. We will see what the outcome is in reality.
“But it’s not about the numbers; it’s more about the quality of the players that we bring in. They need to be improvements to what we currently have.”
El Khannouss is the spark Leeds need in attack
The 21-year old had a great debut season, and was the only spark in the Leicester attack. He will make a great addition to the Leeds squad, as he covers a lot of positions. His ability to create will be very key, as the club’s players tend to play better off the ball. The club need to push to seal this deal quickly.
