Chelsea are reportedly leading the race to land 21-year-old Manchester United attacker Alejandro Garnacho in the summer transfer window.

Chelsea’s Champions League advantage puts them in a strong position
The Blues have been tracking Garnacho closely and have conducted extensive background checks in recent weeks. According to Caught Offside, the Madrid-born winger is keen to stay in the Premier League and play in the UEFA Champions League, two boxes that Chelsea tick convincingly.
While clubs like Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, Napoli, and Fenerbahce have shown interest, Garnacho’s preference to remain in England puts Chelsea in pole position. Tottenham are also monitoring the situation but have not matched Chelsea’s intensity or strategic groundwork.
Manchester United lower their asking price
Originally valued at €80 million, Manchester United are now willing to accept offers in the region of €50-60 million, aware that Garnacho’s discontent and lack of regular involvement could lower his long-term value.
Despite his uncertain status under Amorim, Garnacho’s numbers remain impressive: 11 goals and 10 assists last season, proof of his explosiveness and end product in the final third. Importantly, any transfer is not expected to materialise until United sign a new striker. Talks with Aston Villa over a potential Ollie Watkins swap deal have taken place, but Garnacho himself prefers a move to Chelsea.
Landing Garnacho would be a major coup for Enzo Maresca, who is keen to inject youthful energy and directness into Chelsea’s wide options. With Raheem Sterling and Mykhailo Mudryk no more in their plans, the Argentine international offers something different, an aggressive, fearless winger capable of shifting games on his own.
Even Amorim, despite sidelining the player, has called Garnacho a “really talented” individual, underlining just how big a gain he could be for Chelsea if the deal goes through. As things stand, Stamford Bridge is where the 21-year-old Madrid-born winger wants to be.
