Newcastle United has reportedly improved their offer for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko amid competition from Manchester United.
Sesko is all but guaranteed to leave Leipzig in the final month of the summer transfer window, but it is currently unclear which team he will pick as his next club.
Newcastle and Man United are understood to be the main contenders in the race to secure the services of the Slovenia international.
As per Sky Sports News, Newcastle failed with their first proposal of €75m (£65.5m) plus a further €5m (£4.3m) in add-ons.

Newcastle improve Sesko transfer bid
According to journalist Florian Plettenburg, the Magpies have returned to the negotiating table with a improved, restructured offer.
Newcastle are now willing to offer Leipzig a guaranteed fee of €80m (£69.7m), with a further €10m (£8.7m) in bonuses.
The transfer update claims that Newcastle are 'pushing hard' to sign a player who could replace Alexander Isak at St James' Park.
Newcastle recently rejected a £110m bid from Liverpool for the Sweden international, whose hopes of joining the Premier League champions will rest on whether Eddie Howe's side can sign a replacement.

What's the latest on Man United's pursuit?
On Monday, it was reported that Man United are ready to step up their interest with a formal offer for the 22-year-old forward.
The Red Devils seemingly view Sesko as a top target in their quest to add a first-choice number nine to Ruben Amorim's squad.
Man United, like Newcastle, are still waiting for Sesko to communicate his preferred destination, although **there is a belief that he is leaning towards**the Red Devils.
Sesko is attracting plenty of interest after scoring 21 goals and providing six assists in 45 competitive matches last term.
The Slovenian striker has netted 39 goals in 87 appearances since he joined Leipzig from sister club Red Bull Salzburg in July 2023.
Sesko's next move will see him play his club football outside the Red Bull network for the first time in his senior career.
