Wolves are in the hunt for some new signings ahead of the new Premier League season

Wolves have the opportunity to bring in some new signings this summer to bolster their squad. They also have the chance to let some players head out the exit door as well if needed. The Midlands outfit are preparing for the start of the new 2025/26 Premier League season.

Vitor Pereira is gearing up for his first full campaign in charge at Molineux. He was picked as their head coach during last term as their replacement for Gary O’Neil. The Portuguese boss has since done an impressive job in charge and has made a positive impression among the fanbase.

Wolves update regarding Juanlu Sanchez

TuttoMercatoWeb claim Nottingham Forest have joined Wolves in pursuit of Sevilla winger Juanlu Sanchez. Pereira’s side could face a battle to snap up their target in this window by one of their league rivals. Over the weekend, ABC Sevilla reported that they had a £15million ‘agreement’ with the player but there appears to be new competition now for his signature which isn’t ideal.

Sanchez, 21, has been on the books of his current club since joining them in 2015. Prior to his move, he had spells at Los Caminantes and San Alberto Magno. He has since risen up through the academy ranks of the La Liga side and was a regular for them at various different youth levels.

Sevilla loaned him out to Mirandes back in 2022 to get some experience under his belt and boost his development. Upon his return, he has since made 74 appearances in all competitions and has scored six goals. However, his long-term future is up in the air now amid attention from elsewhere, despite the fact his contract runs until 2029.

What now for Wolves and Juanlu Sanchez?

It remains to be seen at this stage whether Wolves will be able to get a deal for Sanchez over the line. Nottingham Forest’s emergence may well throw a spanner in the works. Nuno Espirito Santo could offer him the platform to play in Europe as they look to show what they can do in the Europa League after missing out on Champions League football.

Pereira shared this update on recruitment last month: "My ambition is to be in the middle of the table and not always worry about the bottom places. It's to look upwards. But right now, we've lost (Matheus) Cunha, we've lost (Rayan) Ait-Nouri, one to Manchester United and one to Manchester City, two very important players for us.

"We've created a relationship (with the fans), a relationship that I hope will continue and I hope the club understands that we have to fulfil the expectations of the masses. Because they're starting to create expectations now, naturally, and we need reinforcements, we need to be competitive."

He added: "I want to prepare a team to start the league competitively, but at the moment it hasn't been possible. I hope there will be some news in the next few days about bringing in people to increase the quality of the squad."
