Leeds United could potentially seal a bargain deal for Roma striker Artem Dovbyk this transfer window.

The 28-year-old joined the Serie A outfit last summer after an impressive season with Girona, but he doesn’t seem to be in Gian Piero Gasperini’s plans.

Dovbyk may be the perfect signing for Leeds before the end of August as they look to strengthen their attack after returning to the Premier League.

While recent reports suggested that Roma want £34.5million for the Ukraine international, the West Yorkshire outfit could get him for cheaper.

The news outlet reports (4 August) that Gasperini has doubts about the 28-year-old centre-forward and is open to his departure.

It’s been claimed that the Serie A outfit are willing to compromise on the Ukrainian striker’s valuation due to the Italian manager’s stance.

Leeds may have an opportunity to sign Dovbyk for a discount and make much-needed attacking additions to Daniel Farke’s squad.

The German manager relied on Joel Piroe to score goals last season, but the Dutchman can’t be expected to post similar numbers in the English top flight.

After missing out on Igor Paixao, the Whites should quickly move on to their next target, and dOVBYK should be pursued at Elland Road.

Dovbyk transfer needed at Elland Road

Mateo Joseph and Patrick Bamford are out of Farke’s plans for the upcoming campaign, leaving the German with a dearth of options in the number nine position.

While Lukas Nmecha was signed on a free transfer earlier this summer, Leeds arguably need a prolific goalscorer to survive immediate relegation from the Premier League.

Dovbyk won the Pichichi at Girona in the 2023/24 season after finishing as the highest goalscorer in LaLiga.

49ers Enterprises obviously have a no-brainer decision to finally splash their cash and give the German manager a player who can make a difference in LS11.
