Manchester United still have work to do during the summer transfer window. Ruben Amorim's side have signed three players so far, with Matheus Cunha, Diego Leon and Bryan Mbeumo coming through the Old Trafford doors.

While United have done some astute business after signing Cunha, Leon and Mbeumo, the Reds still need to get more players across the line. The club are eyeing up a striker to fix their goalscoring woes from last season with RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko United's primary target for the No.9 position.

A midfielder and goalkeeper have been mooted, as United look to improve on a 15th place finish last campaign. Sales are also expected to happen in the next couple of weeks, with Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Tyrell Malacia and Jadon Sancho anticipated to depart the Reds.

Below are some of the latest United headlines, as well as a view on each one;

Sesko update

Newcastle United are pushing hard to agree deal with RB Leipzig for Benjamin Sesko after the Magpies gained encouragement that he would be willing to join the club - as per the Daily Mail.

It's not known what his camp have communicated to Manchester United and all outcomes are still possible, but Newcastle are moving fast to get an agreement reached for the Slovenia international.

Sesko, who scored 21 goals in 45 games for Leipzig last season, is Newcastle's top attacking target and there's a determination to accelerate a deal.

The Manchester Evening News says: Not getting a deal across the line for Benjamin Sesko could cost Manchester United. It's clear the Reds need to sign a new No.9 this summer, even despite Rasmus Hojlund impressing in pre-season so far.

Sesko is the best striker available in the market, right now, and United need to act fast to convince him to chose the Reds instead of a move to Newcastle. He could be a monster addition for Ruben Amorim's side.

Donnarumma latest

Manchester United "target" Gianluigi Donnarumma is prepared to stay at Paris Saint-Germain for another year - according to GiveMeSport. Donnarumma's position as PSG's first-choice 'keeper is uncertain given the arrival of Lucas Chevalier from Lille and the Italian has been linked with a move to United.

However, Donnarumma is content to remain in Paris and fight for a place between the posts, even though there has been no significant engagement over a new deal to date.

The Manchester Evening News says: It's clear that United need to sign a new goalkeeper and I think that, while Donnarumma would be an astute addition, his wages could prove to an issue. He earns around £215,000 per-week at Paris Saint-Germain right now, with his contract there set to end in 2026.

I think that United should sign a younger alternative and someone that can compete alongside Andre Onana for the No.1 shirt. Indeed, Royal Antwerp's Senne Lammens is the man that should be right at the top of the shortlist. For me, he has the potential to go right to the top.
