Liverpool’s summer transfer business has hit a snag, and it comes in the shape of Darwin Nunez.
The Uruguayan striker, once seen as the future of the Reds’ attack, has reportedly turned down a big-money move to Saudi Arabia.
Nunez has been at the center of exit rumours for weeks. as per BBC Sport, Al Hilal were said to be leading the chase, with other Saudi Pro League clubs keeping a close eye.
Talks even took place between his camp and interested teams in the Gulf. But the forward, despite limited minutes last season, is not ready to call time on European football just yet.
He’s made it clear — he wants to stay in Europe and keep competing at the top level.
That stance could throw a wrench in Liverpool’s transfer plans, especially with the club trying to free up funds for a new striker.

Will Darwin Nunez leave Liverpool this summer?
Nunez’s role at Anfield has changed. Under new boss Arne Slot, he hasn’t been the main man up front.
Even though he played a part in Liverpool’s title-winning campaign, he often came off the bench.
With Hugo Ekitike now added to the squad, Nunez’s future has been pushed into more uncertainty.
Liverpool have eyes on Alexander Isak and have already seen a £110 million offer rejected. Selling Nunez would help balance the books for another bid.
But Nunez seems to have other plans. Reports suggest AC Milan, Napoli, and Atletico Madrid are monitoring the situation.
For now, though, he remains part of the first-team squad and is expected to feature in the upcoming Community Shield clash with Crystal Palace.
