Hull City in advanced talks to re-sign Premier League man on season-long loan deal

Hull City are in advanced talks to re-sign Leeds United attacker Joe Gelhardt on loan, according to HullLive.

Hull City are working on a deal to bring back the forward to the MKM Stadium. HCAFC are preparing for another year in the Championship.

Gelhardt, 23, spent the second-half of last season with the Tigers. He scored five goals in 20 games in all competitions to help them preserve their second tier status.

In this latest update regarding his situation by HullLive, he is now poised for a second spell at the MKM Stadium. His contract at Elland Road expires in June 2026.

After joining Hull City last winter, he told their official club website at the time: “It’s a happy moment for me. I’ve spoken to the manager about the plans and direction the club is going in and I can’t wait to get started and get playing. I’m really excited to work with the manager (Ruben Selles). He sees me more playing off the nine, maybe off the right or just behind.

“My best positions are striker or just behind the striker, trying to help assist and score goals for the team and trying to win games. Every footballer wants to train hard all week and get rewarded with playing on the weekend. That hasn’t happened for me in the last few years so I’m really excited to get playing again and get that matchday feeling back.”
