Manchester United have not been able to attract the best of strikers available in the summer transfer window and it looks like they are set to lose out on landing another target.
The Red Devils were interested in hiring the services of Hugo Ekitike but the French forward decided to snub them in favor of a move to arch rivals, Liverpool.

United then focused on reuniting Viktor Gyokeres with Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford. However, the Swedish international decided to turn his former manager down to sign with Arsenal.
Since then, the focus has been on Benjamin Sesko and reports even indicated that the RB Leipzig striker is willing to sign for Man Utd, however, he is now closing in to move to Newcastle United.
The Magpies saw their first bid turned down by the German Bundesliga side and hve now moved in with a massive offer worth £80million (The Telegraph).
According to The Mail, NUFC have received encouragement from the 22-year-old that he is prepared to move to the St. James Park..
Man Utd have so far wasted time as both the British sources have mentioned that they are yet to make an official offer for Sesko, while Newcastle want to seal the deal quickly.
Can United afford to match NUFC’s £80million bid having already spent £70million and £62.5million on Mbeumo and Cunha.
Even if they can, the dilemma does not change. Ekitike and Gyokeres opted to move to Champions League clubs and it will not come as any surprise to see Sesko snub Man Utd to move to Newcastle to play in the continent’s biggest tournament next season.
