With four weeks to go until the summer transfer window closes, there is still plenty of business that Liverpool could get over the line. There have been seven new signings made by the Reds so far this summer, with the potential for more to come before the September 1 deadline.
Hugo Ekitike became the seventh signing of the window last month following his arrival from Eintracht Frankfurt. The striker joins Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Milos Kerkez, Freddie Woodman and Armin Pecsi in completing a move to Liverpool this summer.
Even though there have been seven new signings, there is still the potential for more business to be completed. It's not just new signings that the Reds have been looking to get over the line, but also some outgoings.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, Caoimhin Kelleher, Jarell Quansah, Luis Diaz and Nat Phillips have all left Liverpool on permanent deals this summer. Just like with incomings, there is the potential for more members of the Reds squad to depart before the window closes.
Incomings
Only those within the Liverpool hierarchy will know what business they are looking to complete this summer. One player who has been heavily linked is Alexander Isak.
After seeing a £110million bid rejected, the Reds are understood to not be looking to make a second offer at this moment in time. That stance could change, of course, and in a dream scenario Isak would become a Liverpool player before the deadline.
Liverpool would also be wise to sign a new centre-back before the window closes. Marc Guehi has been heavily liinked with a move to Anfield, and even though striking a deal with Crystal Palace may be a challenge it's one that sporting director Richard Hughes should relish.
Depending on which players leave the club, Liverpool may also be in the market for a new wide forward. Lyon star Malick Fofana is one player who has been mentioned as a potential target for the Reds, while Everton and Nottingham Forest have also been credited with an interest.
Fofana plays on the left wing, and Liverpool may be mindful of not stopping the pathway of teenage talent Rio Ngumoha this season. Even so, agreeing a deal for Fofana would represent a dream piece of business for the Reds.
Outgoings
When it comes to players leaving the club, Liverpool have got some members of their squad who could depart in the next few weeks.
Tyler Morton is moving closer to completing an Anfield exit after a £15million deal with Lyon was agreed last week.
Darwin Nunez is also being heavily linked with a move away from Liverpool this summer. Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League and AC Milan are reported to be interested in signing the Uruguay international.
Federico Chiesa's future has also been in doubt throughout the summer. The Italy international was not part of the squad that travelled to the Far East for pre-season due to a "minor issue" with his fitness, and has been heavily linked with a return to his homeland.
Harvey Elliott has also been mentioned as a player who could depart this summer. The midfielder has even hinted that he may have a decision to make regarding his future at Anfield beyond this summer.
