Leeds United are continuing their preparations for their return to the Premier League, but still have work to do in the summer transfer market. Daniel Farke made it clear that the club's owners need to bolster their forward line, while a number of players are also expected to depart Elland Road.
Leeds will begin their Premier League campaign at home to Everton on August 18, and there is also another deadline on the horizon for the Whites. Leeds will be mindful that the transfer window closes on September 1 as they aim to complete their transfer business over the next few weeks.
In total, Leeds have now signed seven players this summer following their promotion from the Championship. Anton Stach, Sebastiaan Bornauw, Sean Longstaff, Lucas Perri, Gabriel Gudmundsson, Lukas Nmecha and Jaka Bijol have all moved to Elland Road and are stepping up their preparations for Premier League football next term.
There have also been some departures from the Leeds squad this summer, and there is the potential for more to come before the deadline.
Patrick Bamford, Sam Greenwood, Mateo Joseph, Joe Gelhardt and Darko Gyabi are not expected to have a long-term future with Leeds beyond this summer. As a result, it's possible that all five players leave Elland Road before the deadline.
It would also not be a major surprise if Illan Meslier was to leave Leeds this summer. After the Whites confirmed the signing of Perri from Lyon, the future of the French goalkeeper has become increasingly uncertain after losing his number one status towards the end of last season.
