Fabio Silva’s ‘dream’ shared after Wolves flop offered contract by Champions League club -…

Fabio Silva is heading for the exit door at Wolves after a nightmare five years at Molineux.

Silva was signed for a whopping £35 million from Porto in 2020, and has since only managed five goals in 72 appearances for Wolves.

Several loan spells have followed, most recently at Las Palmas, and after a double-digit haul, the Portuguese striker is wanted by a raft of European clubs.

Roma want to sign Silva on loan with an obligation to buy, although no offer has been presented from the Italian giants.

Borussia Dortmund have also shown an interest in Silva, among other clubs, and they’ve moved forward in their pursuit of the 23-year-old.

Borussia Dortmund offer Fabio Silva five-year contract but there’s a catch

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Dortmund have offered Silva a five-year contract, with a meeting set to take place this week to accelerate his permanent exit.

Tavolieri, however, does claim that the forward’s ‘dream’ is to play in Italy with Roma keen to strike a deal, but no concrete offer has been made.

Molineux News previously revealed that Silva’s most likely destination is the Bundesliga, as the likes of RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt have joined the race for his signature.

MORE WOLVES STORIES

Though it appears Dortmund are winning the fight, and all being well, the youngster’s time in Wolverhampton will be quickly coming to an end.

Although Silva has looked decent in pre-season, his mind has always been set on leaving Wolves, and he could now be granted his wish.

Earlier this summer, it was claimed that Silva dreamed of playing European football after rejecting a transfer to Wolfsburg.

It left many fans in disbelief, as his only decent campaign in the last five years was at Las Palmas, scoring 10 La Liga goals last season.

Wolves placed a £25 million asking price on Silva, which was also seen as a questionable decision, so it will be interesting to see what Dortmund are willing to offer.

The Old Gold would be better off inserting a high sell-on clause in Silva’s contract while negotiating a slightly lower fee.

That being said, with Dortmund offering him a five-year contract, surely the prospect of playing in the Champions League will appeal to the striker.
