Borussia Dortmund sold Jamie Gittens to Chelsea earlier in the summer transfer window, and now they expect the Blues to return the favour.
Chelsea signed Jamie Gittens, 20, from Bundesliga giants Dortmund back in July. Incidentally, the English winger penned a long-term contract that expires in 2032.
Chelsea hugely admire Gittens, rating him as one of Europe’s elite under-21 wingers, so we are excited to see how he fits into Enzo Maresca’s plans in the upcoming season.
Despite his youth, he arrives at Stamford Bridge with plenty of first-team experience under his belt from his time in Germany. Given he’s already played 23 matches in the Champions League, he should be a great boost to the Blues squad as they prepare for a return to Europe’s elite club competition.

Borussia Dortmund expect to sign Carney Chukwuemeka
Chelsea’s Carney Chukwuemeka spent the second half of last season on loan with Dortmund, where he certainly made a positive impression. As a result, he’s been linked with a return to the German top division.
Journalist Ben Jacobs reports via X that Dortmund now expect to sign Chukwuemeka as conversations advance with Chelsea.

Chelsea are insisting on the sale of Chukwuemeka during their talks with Dortmund, with the player keen to return to Signal Iduna Park. Apparently, Chukwuemeka is available for around £21.5m, which could tempt Dortmund into buying him.

Carney Chukwuemeka could be one that gets away
Without a doubt, Chukwuemeka is a super talented attacking midfielder with incredible potential. It is just unfortunate that it doesn’t look like he will achieve success in Chelsea colours.
The English playmaker has had horrid luck with injuries since joining the Blues from Aston Villa in 2022.
He finally started to get some regular first-team minutes in 2025 with Dortmund, so it’s no surprise that a permanent return to them is on the cards. At the age of 21, he’s still got plenty of time to shine if he can stay clear of injuries, so we wouldn’t be surprised if he goes on to become a star name in the Bundesliga.
RB Leipzig have asked about Chukwuemeka during the summer window, but a deal makes sense for all parties right now if Chelsea sell him to Dortmund this month.
