Report: £5.9m Nottingham Forest player close to transfer, Nuno doesn't fancy him at all

Nottingham Forest are going on the hunt for more new players before the season starts, and things are beginning to heat up.

Dan Ndoye checked in at Forest from Bologna last week and made his first appearance in the Garibaldi against Birmingham at the weekend.

Igor Jesus and Jair Cunha have joined from Botafogo and the Forest fan base might have to be patient with those two as they settle into the City Ground.

Angus Gunn looks set to sign for Forest as a backup goalkeeper to Matz Sels and things seem to be taking a little bit more shape.

Jackson Tchatchoua is also wanted by Forest, there is a developing situation where more players might leave the club before the transfer window closes in September.

Nottingham Forest future of Jota Silva is up in the air

Sporting CP are leading the race to sign Jota Silva from Forest this summer, with the Portuguese performer seemingly on borrowed time in the Premier League.

It was claimed over the weekend that Porto might be keen on rivalling their divisional rivals to land Silva before the window closes.

However, Mercado Azul has claimed that any current talks of Porto being keen on Silva are wide of the mark with a new forward not currently top of their shortlist.

At the moment, Porto aren’t going to be making an assault on Forest to try and sign Silva, with Forest wanting around £9 million for the forward.

A Bola does claim that a deal is now close, however, with Sporting set to seal a deal to land the player on a deal that will initially see him join on loan.

Forest need better strength in depth this season

All too often, towards the end of last season, Forest found it difficult to change matches in their favour using options from the bench.

Ramon Sosa wasn’t really trusted and joined Palmeiras, whilst Silva only started five Premier League games under Nuno Espirito Santo.

Silva won’t be required at Forest by the time the transfer window edges closer to closing, with the Reds still possibly looking to sign another wide player.

All roads seem to lead to a move back to Brazil and the hope will be that Forest can make a small profit on the player who was signed for £5.9 million 12 months ago, at some point in the future.
