Leeds have moved the transfer chess pieces for Leicester City attacking midfielder Bilal El Khannouss, and are considering several striker options despite identifying Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz as their number one target for the summer.
However, the Whites have decisions to make on certain players who are part of Farke’s squad but want to leave the club before the window closes, and replacements need to be sourced for them before a departure can be sanctioned.

Werder Bremen are pushing hard to sign Leeds United defender Isaac Schmidt
Isaac Schmidt has been involved in Leeds’ pre-season preparations and featured against Villarreal at Elland Road last weekend.
However, he wants to leave before the end of the window, and has agreed on a deal in principle with Werder Bremen to join the German club on loan this summer.
According to Deich Tube, the Bundesliga outfit have continued to be in positive discussions with Leeds to sign the defender in the coming weeks.
They are prepared to offer a loan deal to Leeds with an option to buy this summer. However, the Whites are yet to finalise his departure in the ongoing window.
Leeds want to sign a replacement before they sanction his departure, and have been linked with a move for Lyon’s Ainsley Maitland-Niles this month.
Werder Bremen and Schmidt are waiting for Leeds to sort out the defender’s replacement soon, and the onus of the deal going through is on the Yorkshire giants.
Leeds United need to sort out the transfer soon
Farke would prefer to hold on to Schmidt, as Leeds would be keen to focus on signing forwards rather than try to bring in a backup full-back.
However, the Swiss wants to leave ahead of a season where he wants to play more football to ensure he remains in Switzerland’s World Cup plans.
He has chosen his club in Werder Bremen, and Leeds now need to find a way to bring in his replacement and let the defender leave as soon as possible.
Schmidt being involved in Leeds’ pre-season preparations makes no sense when he clearly wants to move on this summer.
