Man Utd have been offered alternative striker after Newcastle’s £70m Benjamin Sesko bid

Manchester United have already been offered an alternative striker option should they miss out on Benjamin Sesko to Newcastle United this summer, according to reports. The Red Devils plan to sign a striker before the transfer deadline but face fierce competition for their priority target from St. James' Park.

On Monday, Newcastle submitted a second bid for Sesko worth a guaranteed £70million after Leipzig rebuffed an initial £65m proposal. United are expected to make an offer of their own, but it remains to be seen whether the 22-year-old is willing to wait or if they can match the value of their Premier League rivals' approach.

Amorim is vying to complete an attacking overhaul, which featured the combined £133.5m arrivals of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.

United have also been linked with Ollie Watkins, Nicolas Jackson and Jean-Philippe Mateta, but another option has entered the frame.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Juventus have offered the Old Trafford giants the opportunity to sign Dusan Vlahovic this summer.

The Serie A outfit are actively looking to offload Vlahovic after he slipped down the pecking order in Turin.

However, United are said to have responded that they are currently focused on a deal for Sesko, suggesting they remain in the race.

If United fail to meet Leipzig's demands or Sesko opts for Newcastle, Vlahovic could enter the agenda, given his availability.

Juventus general manager Damien Comolli has already confirmed that the 25-year-old striker can leave this summer if a suitable offer arrives.

"We have agreed with Dusan on his exit this summer if we get a good proposal. Vlahovic can only leave with a good bid, and we've not received it so far," Comolli explained.

Juventus have already signed Jonathan David on a free transfer after he ran down his Lille contract.

Meanwhile, talks are ongoing to extend Randal Kolo Muani's stay after an encouraging loan from Paris Saint-Germain last season.

Therefore, Juventus boss Igor Tudor is thought to deem Vlahovic surplus to requirements, and he has long been linked with a Premier League arrival.

United could pivot away from a striker signing if they miss out on their top target, given Amorim's desperate need for midfield reinforcements.

A goalkeeper is also reportedly in his sights amid uncertainty surrounding Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir.
