Sky Sports Link West Ham With Stunning Move for Bundesliga Star

West Ham have been linked with a move for Bayer Leverkusen’s outstanding midfielder Exequiel Palacios. And this report hasn’t come from some dubious outlet nobody’s heard of—it’s come from Sky Sports News.

The 26-year-old Argentinian is regarded as one of the most complete midfielders in Europe and, if we’re being honest, probably a bit too good for where West Ham are right now. Just three months ago, Palacios was being linked with a move to Real Madrid. Yet this morning, Sky claim he’s a target for the Irons.

The idea that West Ham are even attempting to sign a player of this calibre is hard to believe—never mind actually pulling it off—so I won’t be getting overly excited just yet.

That said, Sky also report that the club retains a strong interest in Jacob Ramsey and are very much in the market for midfield reinforcements.

Sky seem to be in overdrive this morning, with updates on John Victor’s transfer saga and now this major development in the Hammers’ midfield search.

While the chances of West Ham landing Palacios seem slim to none, it’s vital the club address a key problem area.

Interestingly, Palacios himself hinted earlier in the summer that he may not stay at Leverkusen, telling South American media: “The transfer window is open and there’s plenty of time, but I’m relaxed, training and preparing for the start of the Bundesliga. My mind is now on Leverkusen. We’ll see what happens later.”

He added: “I always dream of returning to River. But right now my mind is on Leverkusen, in Europe. I’m not thinking about going back.”
