Man Utd have sent ten players out on loan this summer and they aim to complete at least one more.
The 18-year-old was made available for transfer at the start of the window but has yet to receive an offer that is deemed suitable for his personal development plan. Amass made his debut for the first team last season and went on to make seven appearances across all competitions for the club.
The teenage left-back caught the eye with his work rate and attacking threat down the left wing but often struggled with the physicality of the Premier League. Amass is highly rated by United coaches but faces a tough fight for a starting role at Old Trafford after they signed Patrick Dorgu from Lecce earlier in the year and added Diego Leon from Cerro PorteƱo. Those two left-wing-backs were involved in the recent US summer tour, while Amass stayed behind and featured for the U21s during their pre-season schedule.
United sources insist there has been plenty of interest in Amass this summer, but there is nothing imminent regarding a possible loan exit. The club not only wants the teenager to test himself with regular playing time at a suitable level, but they are also conscious of the tactical setup in which he will be utilised, with a desire to develop him as a wing-back rather than a traditional full-back.
United have already allowed ten players to leave the club on loan in the summer transfer window and could sanction several more exits in the final few weeks. Toby Collyer will be allowed to leave the club if a suitable offer arrives, while Ethan Williams was also identified for an exit before the recent US tour. Sam Mather has attracted interest in both a loan and a permanent exit this summer.
