Newcastle United fans have not had much to celebrate this summer, but that could soon change according to Alan Pardew.
It has been a hugely frustrating summer for the Magpies. Multiple key targets have moved elsewhere, while the Alexander Isak to Liverpool situation continues to rumble on.
All the while, the new Premier League season is suddenly not too far away. The Newcastle United squad has not been strengthened much, with Anthony Elanga and Aaron Ramsdale the only arrivals so far.
However, former Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew believes there will soon be something for the Toon Army to get excited about.

Benjamin Sesko to Newcastle United will leave Manchester United in a ‘terrible position’
RB Leipzig are expected to accept Newcastle’s Benjamin Sesko offer, despite Manchester United being interested in the 22-year-old.
Landing the Slovenian striker ahead of the Red Devils would be quite the coup for Newcastle, while it would also be a hammer blow for Ruben Amorim.
That is according to Pardew, who has spoken about the Sesko to Newcastle situation on TalkSPORT.
“It’s going to leave them [Man United] in a terrible position,” he said.

“It looks to me like Newcastle are accelerating this quickly to try take Manchester United out of the ballpark. It looks like Man United have got to do some business, maybe going to Chelsea or something like that to fund this striker.
“It looks like Newcastle are trying to sort of cut them off at the pass. Newcastle fans will be extremely happy with that news because obviously the Isak one is really hanging over them and are Liverpool going to make the move for him.”
Newcastle United closing in on transfer revenge over Manchester United
Pardew is right, Newcastle fans will be extremely happy if Sesko heads to St James’ Park.
He would become Newcastle’s most expensive signing ever, while a deal would also give the Magpies a bit of revenge over Man United.
They have beaten Newcastle to two signings this summer. It started with Matheus Cunha, and then they bought Bryan Mbeumo too. Both deals were extremely frustrating for Newcastle United, as they were still missing out on top targets despite having the lure of Champions League football over their North West rivals.
But this is a transfer saga that appears to be going Newcastle’s way. Both clubs are desperate to sign a striker, yet it is Newcastle who are in the driving seat for Sesko.
They are attempting to blow Man United out of the water and leave them in what Pardew believes would be a ‘terrible position’.
For Newcastle, it is a huge step in the right direction.
