Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City haven’t done much business with one another in recent years.
Indeed, it would seem that Daniel Levy doesn’t really like doing business with City.
Levy recently commented on City’s 115 charges, while City’s move for Kyle Walker in 2017 left a sour taste in the mouths of many.
On top of that, City tried to sign Harry Kane from Spurs at the peak of his powers.
However, desperate times call for desperate measures, and Tottenham may need to buy a player from Man City now.
Spurs want Jack Grealish after James Maddison picked up a serious injury in pre-season, and, interestingly, Maddison has already shared his verdict on Grealish as a player.

James Maddison has already shared his verdict on Jack Grealish
Speaking to Sky Sports a few years ago, Maddison was asked to pick between himself and Jack Grealish as players.
The Tottenham star ultimately claimed that Grealish was just as good as him, claiming that the England international is a top player and a good friend of his to boot.
“Both of us! Jack’s a top, top player and a good friend of mine, so I can’t answer that one, sorry mate.” Maddison said.
“I think sometimes you just appreciate quality. The first time I saw him play, I just knew he was a top player. You could tell. He’s got that way about him and plays with personality.
“Our manager, Brendan Rodgers, always talks about playing with personality and he is someone who definitely does that.”

Tottenham would be getting a ‘top player’ if they signed Grealish from Manchester City, and, eventually, they would be pairing up quite the double act with Maddison and Grealish.
Indeed, these two players would complement one another brilliantly with their creativity and flair, and, with Grealish capable of playing down the left wing as well as through the middle, they could dovetail nicely.
These two have played together twice before for England, winning on both occasions.

Of course, these were two games against weak opposition – Bosnia and Australia, but it shows that Grealish and Maddison can work well together in the same team.
This could be a deal that works for all parties as City need to sell Grealish and Tottenham need a Maddison replacement.
