Leicester City could miss out on a big payday as West Ham divert their focus away from Mads Hermansen.
City had been braced to sell their number one goalkeeper this summer after his exceptional performances prior to his groin injury last season.
And West Ham appeared to be a strong contender for his signature, especially when reports emerged from Denmark over the weekend that the 25-year-old had agreed personal terms with the Hammers.
However, on Tuesday morning, Sky Sports reported that Graham Potter’s side were in advanced talks over Botafogo goalkeeper John Victor.
They added that their attention had turned to the Brazilian because they were unwilling to meet City’s asking price for Hermansen.
City likely want more than £20m for the Dane, who signed from Brondby for £6.5m two summers ago but has since proven his Premier League credentials, showing qualities in both shot-stopping and with the ball at his feet.

But the suggestions from Brazil are that Victor would be much cheaper, potentially around £10m.
It seems Botafogo are preparing for his departure and are set to sign veteran goalkeeper Neto from Bournemouth to replace him.
Because of surgery on his groin, Hermansen did not play his first pre-season game until the weekend, keeping a clean sheet as City beat Fiorentina.
It will be interesting to see if he keeps his place when City host Sheffield Wednesday for their Championship opener this weekend.
Jakub Stolarczyk, Hermansen’s deputy for the past two seasons, had been expected to step up and become number one in the event of a sale, and had played consistently through pre-season until the weekend.
