Everton have already received the seal of approval to sign ‘amazing’ player from Ademola Lookman

Former Everton and now Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman has publicly praised a Toffees transfer target.

Ademola Lookman made just shy of a half century of appearances during his two and a half year spell atGoodison Park.

48 appearances

4 goals

2 assists

It wasn’t the most productive time for Lookman as he never really found his footing on Merseyside, despite a memorable debut goal against Manchester City.

However, since leaving the Toffees, the jet-heeled winger has established himself as one of the best players on the continent with Atalanta.

In fact, Lookman was nominated for the Ballon d’Or last year and is now being linked with a mega-money transfer to Inter Milan.

With all that said, Everton fans will love to hear what Lookman once said about a player who’s set to join this summer.

Moyes has tracked Dewsbury-Hall since January, with the Scotsman keen on adding a goalscoring midfielder to his ranks.

Lookman actually played alongside Dewsbury-Hall during the 2021/22 campaign, and he was blown away by how good he was.

“Dewsbury-Hall is an amazing player,” Lookman told Leicester’s website in April 2022. “His energy, his tenacity is what we need and he’s very valuable to the squad, to us, and also not just as a player, but as a person as well. He’s a cool guy and I get along with him very well.”

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall would be a huge upgrade on James Garner

As it stands, Dewsbury-Hall is expected to join and compete with James Garner for a spot in Moyes’ starting line-up.

The Everton boss has been in the market for a more progressive midfielder who can contribute in the final third, and the statistics show that Dewsbury-Hall fits that exact profile.

As evinced by the data below, the Chelsea star trumps Garner in every attacking metric, so his arrival will certainly boost the midfield’s threat and creativity.

Non-penalty goals 0.35 0.00

What this all means for teenage midfielder Harrison Armstrong remains to be seen, but there is Championship interest in his signature.

Hull City, Blackburn and Derby all want to sign Armstrong on a season-long loan deal.
