Chelsea facing strong competition for Alejandro Garnacho - Fabrizio Romano

Chelsea’s interest in Alejandro Garnacho has raised some eyebrows, but a new update from Fabrizio Romano may ease concerns.

Alejandro Garnacho is leaving Manchester United this summer, that much we know.

Since the arrival of Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford, the two have not got along. Amorim has made it clear that Garnacho is not part of his plans as he looks to rebuild this United side to return to competing.

There was some hesitance amongst the fanbase upon hearing the Garnacho to Chelsea rumours, with the main concern being his attitude.

Chelsea were aware of this, and they carried out extensive background checks on Garnacho, finding nothing to suggest problems with his attitude. But for any who were still concerned, believing Garnacho to be unwanted baggage, new information has emerged suggesting this is not the case.

Fabrizio Romano reveals interest in Alejandro Garnacho from Germany, Italy and Saudi

There were murmurings of a possibility that Garnacho would struggle to find a club interested in signing him, but that is evidently not the case.

Fabrizio Romano has disclosed that there are no shortage of suitors for the 21-year-old.

There was even an approach made for Garnacho by Turkish side Besiktas, though that deal had ‘no chance’ of progressing according to Romano.

The heavy interest in the Argentine does well to disprove the notion that he is some sort of black sheep that clubs should be wary of. The reality is, he is a quality player with youth on his side and every chance of reviving his career with some fresh scenery.

Alejandro Garnacho only has eyes for Chelsea

In his fresh update on the Garnacho situation, Romano revealed that while many clubs want his services, he only has eyes for one team, Chelsea.

He seems to be happy to wait for Chelsea to finish up their other business, with Man United also not rushing to sell Garnacho without a suitable replacement lined up.

It looks any Garnacho deal will sorted late in the window, after Xavi Simons’ move to Chelsea has been completed.

For now, Garnacho is still a United player, and Chelsea will be happy to see him join pre-season training so he can sharpen up before making the move he’s wanted all summer.
