Leicester City defender James Justin could move to Everton this summer.

The 27-year-old was a regular for the Foxes in the Premier League last season, but they were relegated immediately back to the Championship.

Former Bayern Munich left-back Adam Aznou has bolstered the Blues’ defensive ranks this summer, but they could arguably do with a few more arrivals.

The Merseyside outfit are close to completing a deal for Chelsea midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and may turn their attention to the English right-back soon.

David Moyes wants six more signings amid Justin interest

Justin has been identified as a potential target by the Toffees this summer, according to The Herald.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

The news outlet reports in its print edition (5 August, page 37) that the 27-year-old may be an option for the Blues at the Hill Dickinson Stadium as up to six more players are wanted.

Nathan Patterson has struggled under David Moyes during pre-season, and his recent fitness issue makes him unreliable, a lot like Seamus Coleman.

Jake O’Brien has been decent playing out of position on the right side of defence, but someone like Justin could be a better fit for the Scottish manager.

Justin transfer is needed at Everton

Lyon right-back Ainsley Maitland-Niles is on the Toffees’ radar, which suggests they’re looking to strengthen that department.

The former Arsenal ace is versatile and capable of playing in multiple positions, a trait Justin also possesses.

The Leicester defender can play across the backline, which will definitely come in handy due to the lack of depth in the Everton senior squad.

Justin signed for Leicester City in 2019.

The 27-year-old suffered an ACL injury in the 2021/22 campaign.

Last season, the right-back played 36 times in the Premier League.

Moyes arguably needs more bodies at Everton, and Justin could help the Scottish manager implement a slight tweak in defence for next season.

While O’Brien has been defensively resolute, the Toffees have arguably missed an attacking spark on the right wing, and the England international’s attacking qualities could come in handy.

Justin took 25 shots and created 14 chances in the Premier League last season, as per FotMob, and has vast experience in the English top flight with 99 appearances, but only time will tell whether he will grace the blue shirt in Merseyside before the end of August.
