After his loan move from Man Utd, Marcus Rashford finally found the net in his third pre-season outing for Barcelona.
Man Utd star settling in with style at Barcelona
Marcus Rashford’s short-term switch from Manchester United to Barcelona raised plenty of eyebrows this summer. But, it seems the player is starting to enjoy life in Spain.
After two early pre-season games without a goal, Rashford finally opened his scoring account. During Barcelona’s 5-0 win over South Korean side Daegu FC, he got on to the scoresheet. The winger, expected to play mostly on the left, made his mark with a sharp finish inside the box.
Rashford received the smart pass in space and struck the ball cleanly past the Daegu keeper. His teammates quickly ran over to celebrate with him which shows he is very much fitting in. He also had an assist in friendlies against Vissel Kobe and FC Seoul which confirms that he is preparing for the La Liga season.
Eyes on the future for Rashford
Barcelona are preparing for their final pre-season clash against Italian side Como. Rashford’s strong start is giving the club something to think about. Though, his move was originally a loan switch. The Catalans do hold the option to make the deal permanent for around £25m. If the Englishman keeps up this form, there’s every chance they’ll trigger that clause.
In the meantime, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo are taking up roles at Old Trafford. So, a return to Manchester is probably out of the question. Many Red Devils fans will surely follow his game this season. They know that this might be the last chapter in a Man Utd shirt.
For Rashford, this time in Barca could be a new beginning. He has a chance to start rebuilding his game at the top level in Spain.
