Report: Man Utd now eyeing move to sign 'prolific' Champions League striker as Sesko alternative

Manchester United are assessing a potential summer move for Paris Saint-Germain forward Goncalo Ramos, according to CaughtOffside.

The Red Devils have reportedly identified the Portugal international as another option on their striker shortlist, alongside RB Leipzig ace Benjamin Sesko, who remains a top target.

A host of Premier League and European clubs are believed to be monitoring Ramos’ situation closely in the final month of the summer transfer window, as PSG are open to letting him leave.

The Champions League winners are reportedly aiming to recoup the original €65m (£56m) fee paid to Benfica if Ramos departs permanently, but are also willing to accept a loan deal with an option to buy.

According to CaughtOffside, Ramos is strongly considering a departure from Parc des Princes this summer after struggling for regular minutes under Luis Enrique last season.

The 24-year-old made just 16 starts across all competitions and often found himself on the bench behind more established attackers, including Ousmane Dembele, a strong contender for the Ballon d’Or.

Ramos’ willingness to leave has put several Premier League and Serie A clubs on alert, with the likes of Man United, Newcastle, Liverpool, Juventus and Napoli all exploring a possible move.

The ‘prolific’ striker, who joined PSG permanently from Benfica in January 2024, is under contract until June 2028.

Man United are expected to strengthen Ruben Amorim’s frontline with another addition before the September 1 deadline, with their pursuit of Sesko still ongoing.

The Red Devils are awaiting the Slovenia international’s decision over his preferred destination, with Newcastle also in contention after submitting a fresh bid.
