Manchester United have submitted a bid for RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko.
The Red Devils have launched an official bid of €75million (£65.2) plus €10m (£8.7m) in add-ons for the Bundesliga striker, according to David Ornstein. However, they will have to battle Newcastle for his signature, who have already seen one of their bid's rebuffed.
The Magpies submitted a revised bid on Monday after their €75million plus €5million in add-ons was knocked back and deemed insufficient by Leipzig. The new bid is understood to be worth around £78m - more than United's approach.
Newcastle have been tracking the Slovenian across the summer, with their pursuit coming during Liverpool's interest in Alexander Isak.
Eddie Howe's side have been in the market for a striker - but they lost out to Liverpool in their pursuit of Hugo Ekitike and could see their current No.9 poached by the Reds, who had their £110million rejected.

The Red Devils, meanwhile, have already strengthen their forward line this summer with the signings of Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.
United have also been linked with Viktor Gokeres, who moved to Arsenal, Liam Delap, who moved to Chelsea, and Ollie Watkins this summer.
However, a recent report from The Athletic suggested that Ruben Amorim had focussed all his attention on the Slovenian superstar.

Sesko was on fire for Leipzig last season, recording 21 goals in all competitions last season - taking his total 39 goals and eight assists in 87 appearances since moving to the Bundesliga side from Red Bull Salzburg in 2023.
The Slovenian's contract runs until 2029, and he won't come cheap.
Sesko had also drawn interest from Arsenal this summer, but they pulled out of the chase after landing Gyokeres from Sporting CP after a lengthy transfer saga.
