Man Utd have submitted their opening offer to sign Benjamin Sesko in the summer window.
United have made it a priority to sign a striker before deadline day, with Sesko identified as their new priority target for the role. It is understood they have made an initial offer of €75m plus €10m in add-ons, which is lower than upfront fee Newcastle have offered for the striker.
Newcastle saw their opening offer of €75m plus €5m in add-ons rejected over the weekend and have submitted an improved offer of at least €80m to the Bundesliga club. With the two clubs prepared to pay the same overall fee for a transfer, Sesko's transfer preference will be the deciding factor in the deal and he must choose which team he would rather play for next season.

United were reluctant to launch an official bid for Sesko until they received indication from the player that he wanted to move to Old Trafford, and confirmation of their opening offers suggests they are confident of reaching an agreement with the striker. It is understood RB Leipzig are yet to respond to United's proposal but all parties are hoping for a swift resolution to the transfer saga.
Taking to social media shortly after the bid was revealed, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reiterated United's confidence in completing a deal for the 22-year-old.
"Manchester United sent official bid to show serious, concrete intentions to RB Leipzig… following Newcastle €90m bid," he wrote on X. "Sources at Man United believe Šeško is keen on the move and decided to proceed with official bid. Newcastle and United, waiting for his formal decision."
Ruben Amorim has made it a priority to overhaul his attacking options this summer and the club have already spent £127.5m to bring both Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo to the club. It is understood the United head coach would rather sign a striker with Premier League experience this summer, but club chiefs believe Sesko has huge untapped potential and can be moulded into his deal option.
