With Leeds United looking to be ruthless with departures this summer, Marcelo Bielsa will be sad to see the latest outgoing deal.
Daniel Farke and the 49ers are hoping to use August as a month for wholesale changes in terms of players leaving the club.
The Leeds boss has made it very clear that if players don’t show the effort and desire to play for the Whites, they won’t be in his plans.
This was shown through Farke dismissing Mateo Joseph, with the Spaniard looking to force an exit away from Elland Road.
It’s a player whose potential could be wasted, and in Bielsa’s eyes, the same could be said for another Whites youngster.

Marcelo Bielsa said Joe Gelhardt was ‘Premier League level’ at Leeds United
A recent update on the future of Joe Gelhardt has risen to the surface, and it appears the 23-year-old won’t be sticking around.
Hull City are close to another loan for Gelhardt as the promising forward is once again not in Farke’s plans.
Former Whites boss Bielsa will be sad to see this, as the Argentine was someone who saw the striker’s promise.
MORE LEEDS UNITED STORIES
During the 2021/22 season, the 70-year-old was a big fan of the former Wigan star, with Bielsa saying Gelhardt is ‘Premier League level’ at just the age of 19.
The Uruguay coach described the youngster as a ‘human wrecking ball’, hinting at his energy and aggressive play style.
Gelhardt couldn’t have asked for much better praise from a better person, and it seemed as though he was destined for the top, but it’s all gone wrong since.
Joe Gelhardt’s Leeds United career could soon come to an end
Now that the striker is set to embark on his second loan spell with Hull, it’s quite clear that his time with the Peacocks is ending.
After a campaign in 21/22, which showed real potential, Bielsa’s departure in February 2022 seemed to take Gelhardt’s chances with him in the following season
Jesse Marsch arrived, and although he showed his worth briefly, in 22/23, Gelhardt just couldn’t quite find that same spark he had under the Argentine.

With Farke’s arrival, this didn’t get any better, and another loan to the Tigers looks like Leeds are delaying the inevitable with a full sale.
Rangers wanted a permanent move for Gelhardt, but with it collapsing this summer, surely if he shines at Hull like he did last season, a future move to Glasgow will be on the cards.
It’s a real shame to see his downfall at Elland Road, and without Bielsa, it just seems to have all gone wrong.
