Manchester United player may consider joining Champions League qualified team

On Monday, we covered the latest on Real Betis and Antony, which was essentially that there is no update on the case and the Seville club are still holding out for a loan.

After a myriad of various structures were considered, the whole thing boils down to Betis not wanting to pay anything like what Manchester United want, and also not being prepared to commit to paying in the future.

Spain’s [Cadena Ser](https://cadenaser.com/nacional/2025/08/05/antony-y-el-real-betis-buscan-la-formula-para-convencer-al-manchester-united-de-cerrar-una-nueva-cesion-cadena-ser/) now report Antony’s camp and Real Betis continue work to convince Manchester United to accept another loan deal. Their argument is that if the Brazilian managed to revalue himself during the months he had with Betis last season, then just think what he could do over the course of a whole season.

That argument may work for Betis but it would be an almighty gamble for Manchester United. Antony arguably played the best football of his career at the end of last season, and there’s far from a guarantee the 25-year-old will do so again, let alone improve on that output.

Multiple other clubs are said to have enquired about signing Antony, with nothing really concrete yet. Cadena Ser end their article by stating that if a Champions League club makes a formal offer then Antony ‘may entertain the possibility’.

That’s good of him.
