Everton could now potentially be prepared to go all in for Manchester City forward Jack Grealish.

The 39-cap England international is out of Pep Guardiola’s plans after being excluded from his FIFA Club World Cup squad.

The Friedkin Group (TFG) want Grealish at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and his arrival would certainly be a statement of intent from the Toffees’ American owners.

David Moyes wants the Man City star at the Hill Dickinson Stadium ahead of next season, and the Merseyside outfit’s supporters may have Southampton to thank.

Grealish alternative target as Everton to miss out on Tyler Dibling

After Southampton rejected multiple bids for Tyler Dibling, the Toffees are set to turn their attention to Grealish, according to talkSPORT.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

The news outlet reports (5 August) that the Blues will step up their interest in the 29-year-old after a counterproposal from the Saints.

It’s been claimed that the Hampshire outfit rejected an offer worth around £40million from the Merseyside outfit for their 19-year-old English forward, and want £45m plus £5m in add-ons and a 25 per cent sell-on clause.

Moyes’ team have had an eye on the Man City winger this summer, and it will be interesting to see whether they can pull off a deal.

Dibling v Grealish: There’s an obvious winner

Now that the Toffees have second thoughts about pursuing a deal for Dibling with Southampton, alternative targets need to be looked at.

The teenager has a lot of potential. However, he has a lot to learn in terms of his end product in the final third before the Saints start asking for a significant sum.

The English youngster showed glimpses of his talent last season, but the Hampshire outfit were eventually relegated from the Premier League.

Grealish has been one of the best players in the Premier League, barring his recent struggles.

The 29-year-old will be looking to get into the England squad for the 2026 World Cup.

Moyes can have short-term success with the winger.

On the other hand, Grealish could potentially be a game-changing transfer for Everton despite his struggles at the Etihad Stadium.

The 29-year-old moved to Man City from Aston Villa in 2021 for £100m, and he’s still in the prime years of his career.

Dibling could be a potential future superstar. However, Grealish will undoubtedly have an immediate impact in L5 if the Toffees can sign him.
