Chelsea owners set to break their own record as more sales expected this summer

This week has been labelled outgoings week at Chelsea and if Monday is anything to go by, it will be a busy one at Stamford Bridge.

Yesterday afternoon, the sale of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was reported by Fabrizio Romano, with Lesley Oguchukwu also said to be Burnley-bound, and plenty more deals in the works.

The early part of this window was marked by plenty of incoming signings before the Club World Cup, but now it seems ownership are looking to sell to free up cash for the remainder of the window.

Negotiations with Xavi Simons are stalled for the time being and Alejandro Garnacho is patiently waiting for Chelsea to reach out.

But on the outgoings front, Chelsea are flying. They have already made over completed or agreed to £200 million in sales, with more to come.

Chelsea forecasting another £100m to £150m in sales for record-breaking total

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Chelsea expect another £100/£150 million in player sales over the remaining weeks, which would take their total revenue from player sales above £300 million, a figure that blows their previous high of £244 million out of the water.

As much as Chelsea gets a bad rap for their extravagant spending, they should be commended when they sell as well as this.

Where that £100+ million comes from is the next question. Nicolas Jackson is increasingly likely to leave, and new rumours are linking Axel Disasi to a Wolves move.

Carney Chukwumeka is rumoured to be a target of Borussia Dortmund and the futures of Christopher Nkunku and Tyrique George are unclear as of yet.

How Chelsea could spend that incoming money to strengthen squad

As mentioned, deals for Simons and Garnacho look likely to materialise between now and the end of August, but where else might the Blues look to add depth?

Morgan Rogers remains on Chelsea’s wishlist, though that deal would take a great effort from the Blues.

The goalkeeper position has been a source of discussion this window, though Robert Sanchez appears to have Enzo Maresca’s favour despite links to Gianluigi Donnarumma.

🚨 Chelsea have generated the most money through player sales since the start of the Premier League.

The club closest to them is Liverpool who are over 600 million behind.

With Disasi rumoured to leave, another centre-half could be useful, though the addition of Jorrel Hato covers that position as well.

BlueCo have set up the squad structure to be incredibly malleable, and the last few weeks have shown they can generate as much money as they feel they need with the amount of quality assets at their disposal, so the question isn’t who can they buy, but who do they want.
