Nottingham Forest turn attention to Mads Bidstrup – RB Salzburg midfielder and captain

Nottingham Forest have added RB Salzburg midfielder and captain Mads Bidstrup to ‘the top of their shortlist’.

That’s according to journalist Florian Plettenberg, who reports that Nottingham Forest have turned their attention to the 24-year-old this summer.

Nottingham Forest are busy adding to their squad as they face a season in Europe after qualifying for the Europa Conference League last season.

They appear to be determined to add a midfielder to their squad after selling Danilo to Botafogo and have been linked with several.

Juventus’ Douglas Luiz is a target and a move for him has been progressing, but Plettenberg reports that they’ve now added Salzburg captain Bidstrup to the top of their shortlist.

He’s been with Salzburg since a €6m move from Brentford in 2023. He has four goals and four assists in 83 games for the club to date.

He previously came through at Brentford after joining from RB Leipzig’s U19 side but only managed 14 appearances totalling 367 minutes for the Bees before being moved on.

Now he could be offered a return to the Premier League with Nottingham Forest, who have added him to their transfer shortlist.
