Wolves continue to prepare for the 2025/26 season, with only a couple of weeks to go now until the new campaign – and there has now been an update on Pedro Lima.
Pedro Lima signed for Wolves just over one year ago, when the club beat Chelsea to the young Brazilian’s signature.
It was essentially a season of adaptation for Lima, who only made six appearances in total.
It was clear to both Gary O’Neil and Vitor Pereira that the youngster wasn’t really in a position to be pushing Nelson Semedo for minutes.
But fans have been wondering if he might see more action in 2025/26, especially given all the speculation about Semedo before he finally confirmed his exit.
But fans haven’t been overly convinced by Lima in pre-season, and Wolves’ plan for the player has now been shared.

Lima is a player with big potential.
But at the moment, it feels like there’s Pereira doesn’t yet trust him to take over from Semedo.
Ki-Jana Hoever appears to be ahead of him in the pecking order, and Wolves have been strongly linked with Juanlu Sanchez of Sevilla.
MORE WOLVES STORIES
And Wolves have also been linked with Julian Ryerson of Borussia Dortmund, so the desire to bring in a new player doesn’t bode too well for Lima.
The Express & Star have published a line about Lima today regarding the plan for the player.
And Wolves are now actively looking to send Lima out on loan – specifically, to an English club.
It is felt internally that Lima would benefit from experiencing the English Football League. Wolves want Lima to develop physically, and also improve his English skills.
Furthermore, Wolves are limited on the number of foreign loans they can sanction, and want to keep some slots free for players such as Sasa Kalajdzic, who may benefit more from a loan abroad.
Lima loan is the right call
There have been some glimpses from Lima in a Wolves shirt, but it looks like Wolves clearly feel he needs a season away from Molineux to develop.
And sending him to an English club could be a great move.
Lima has been linked with Wrexham (although not technically English), so it remains to be seen if Wolves may look to try and facilitate something there, with former captain Conor Coady now in their squad.
The physicality of the Premier League game is well documented, and Lima can get to grips with that in the Football League.
With Wolves pursuing a new right wing-back, minutes are going to be hard to come by for the £8.4 million signing (E&S) if he sticks around.
Therefore, it would be most opportune for him to leave temporarily and come back to Molineux ready to challenge next year.
