Everton look to have finally landed their first big win of the transfer window as Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall closes in on a move.

David Moyes’ side had been struggling in the transfer window so far, having only brought in Adam Aznou, Thierno Barry, and Mark Travers.

The Toffees have been prioritising the signing of a midfielder after losing Abdoulaye Doucoure at the end of last season, and Dewsbury-Hall looked to be a direct replacement.

However, the Blues could now move for another midfielder after the latest transfer news coming out of Everton.

Everton could make Hayden Hackney approach

Everton have been tracking Middlesbrough’s Hayden Hackney over the summer.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

The 23-year-old had looked set to join Ipswich Town, but turned down a move, with the hope of landing a Premier League move.

The Blues could now turn their attention back to Hackney, with Moyes wanting six more new signings before the end of the transfer window, according to The Telegraph (4 August).

This includes two new midfielders for the Blues, who are in desperate need of more depth.

Moyes’ side have been eyeing a move for Douglas Luiz in recent weeks, though with that move dragging on, they could now look to Hackney to solve their problems in midfield.

Everton to regret being slow in the race for Hackney

The Toffees have already regretted being slow in the race for several signings this summer.

Should they delay a move for Hackney, he could go on to join one of their rivals and show the Blues why they should have pushed to sign him.

Given the dip in interest, now seems the perfect time for Moyes to secure a bargain transfer as Everton are still in need of plenty of reinforcements.
