San Antonio Spurs guard De’Aaron Fox has agreed to a four-year, $229 million maximum contract extension with the franchise, the team has confirmed.
According to ESPN, the deal has no player option in the final year, securing Fox’s future with the Spurs through the 2029/30 season.
Fox landed in San Antonio following a trade with the Sacramento Kings in February, with the 27-year-old joining forces with franchise cornerstone Victor Wembanyama.
“Just being able to be part of an organization like this ... you come in here and you feel that,” Fox said. You feel that in the environment. You feel that in the fans,. And then you go into the practice facility or you go into the arena and you see those banners hanging ... there’s nothing you can do besides try to build on that.
Fox averaged 19.7 points and 6.8 assists in 17 games with San Antonio last season before his season ended in March due to tendon damage in his left pinkie. The 2023 All-Star, who notched 23.5 points per game with the Spurs and Kings in 2024/25, recorded 60 points against the Minnesota Timberwolves on November 15, a franchise record in Sacramento.
Fox is one of two players to average 20 points, 5 assists and 1 steal in each of the past six seasons and is also one of four players to clock 10,000 points, 3,000 assists and 700 steals since 2017/18.
