Manchester City forward Jack Grealish could potentially be convinced to sign for Everton.

The Englishman has struggled for regular game time at the Etihad Stadium in recent months, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him leave in the coming weeks.

Grealish has been linked with Everton recently, but it remains to be seen whether the Toffees can get a deal over the line for him.

The Blues are struggling to reach an agreement with Southampton for Tyler Dibling. As a result, they have switched focus to the Man City forward, who may be tempted to restart his career elsewhere.

Grealish eyes World Cup finals amid Everton interest

Grealish has “added motivation” to play regularly ahead of the World Cup finals, according to The Herland.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

The news outlet reports in its print edition (5 August, page 37) that the 29-year-old may have his eyes on being included in Thomas Tuchel’s squad for next year’s international tournament.

It’s been claimed that a loan move for the English forward holds an appeal for The Friedkin Group (TFG), and the Toffees could benefit from being a north-west club.

While the former Aston Villa star’s move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium would arguably shock many, it remains to be seen whether the Merseyside outfit can afford him.

Moyes to give Grealish freedom up front

Grealish currently earns around £300,000 a week at Man City. Therefore, he will undoubtedly have to take a pay cut to join the Toffees.

The Englishman hasn’t been anywhere near his best in recent seasons. However, that may be down to Pep Guardiola’s rigid tactics.

At Villa, the 29-year-old played his best football when he was given the freedom to operate in the final third without being forced to hold the width out wide.

Premier League (2020/21) Statistics

Appearances 26

Goals 6

Assists 10

Big chances created 14

Successful dribbles (per game) 2.5

Grealish’s Premier League record in the 2020/21 season at Villa.

Everton could potentially offer Grealish the perfect environment to bring the best out of him, as he will definitely be the main player if he comes to Bramley-Moore Dock.

Moyes used Abdoulaye Doucoure as his number 10 last season. Therefore, now that the Mali international has left, the Man City star would be a magnificent replacement.

The 29-year-old has a massive decision to make over his future ahead of the 2026 World Cup, and fans in L5 will hope he chooses a move to Everton.
