Leeds United have received a boost in their transfer pursuit of Fiorentina forward Riccardo Sottil.

The 26-year-old joined AC Milan in the winter transfer window, but was unable to make a mark at the San Siro.

Sottil is now being eyed at Elland Road, but it remains to be seen whether the Whites can get a deal over the line for the winger.

The West Yorkshire outfit have been keen on bolstering the left side of their attack, as was seen in their pursuit of now-Marseille forward Igor Paixao, and may be able to sign the Fiorentina ace soon.

The news outlet reports (5 August) that the Italian national isn’t trusted by Stefano Pioli, and is training individually, with the Serie A outfit open to his exit amid interest from Elland Road.

It’s been claimed that the 26-year-old is being targeted by the Whites, as well as Torino and Sassuolo in Italy.

With the West Yorkshire outfit in desperate need of attacking reinforcements, Sottil’s arrival in LS11 may be finalised soon if they opt to go with him.

Gnonto and Largie Ramazani need competition

Gnonto will have to fight for his place at Leeds next season after losing his spot in the starting lineup in the middle of the previous campaign.

The 21-year-old was often left on the bench as Farke preferred other options in the attack after the turn of the year.

Dan James had an impressive spell on the right wing as the West Yorkshire outfit won the Championship title, and he will likely keep his place in the team.

Player Appearances Goals Assists

Largie Ramazani 29 6 2

Gnonto and Largie Ramazani’s Championship records last season.

Manor Solomon has gone back to Tottenham after his loan spell at Leeds, leaving Gnonto and Largie Ramazani to compete with each other.

Farke did suffer a lot of injuries in his squad last season, and will arguably want more depth in every department, including the attack.

Sottil could provide Farke with more options to consider in the Premier League, and hopefully increase the overall standards of those who want to be in the starting lineup.
