Chelsea have opened talks with the entourage of Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho as they ramp up their pursuit for his signature. Although no formal offer is on the table as of yet the Blues are in dialogue and there could be a new round of talks soon.
The 20-year-old Argentine is keen on Chelsea and prepared to bide his time to get a switch. Ruben Amorim has already left Garnacho out of Manchester United’s pre-season tour and given the green light for his departure.
Garnacho All In, Chelsea Play the Waiting Game
Garnacho has been clear that he would prefer a transfer to Chelsea despite offers from Germany, Italy and Saudi Arabia. For him, Champions League football is paramount and Chelsea represent the ideal next challenge. The winger is now tied to Manchester United until at least 2028.
Chelsea have completed background checks on the player and found no concerns regarding his attitude. Chelsea informed Garnacho’s entourage that they will act after addressing other key transfer priorities, including Xavi Simons.
Under the manager Enzo Maresca, Chelsea are playing with a style that Garnacho’s pace, flair and pressing ability would suit. There is a growing internal feeling at the club that he could be a long-term solution out wide and provide competition for Estevao and another youngster, Gittens.
Fans have taken note to Garnacho liking a Fabrizio Romano Instagram post on Chelsea interest in him and Xavi Simons — further fueling speculation.

United’s Demands and Chelsea’s Caution
Manchester United are open to selling Garnacho but want a suitable replacement secured before sanctioning any move. Chelsea are aware of this stance and remain cautious with spending. Reports place the price tag between £30–40 million, but the final fee could hinge on United’s timing.
Transfer market values Garnacho at €45 million. Chelsea may consider a structured deal, especially if they act later in the window. The club still have other priorities for now but they are quietly confident of getting the Alejandro Garnacho deal over the line by the end of this week.
