PSG star, wildcard veteran: 7 strikers Man United can sign if Sesko chooses Newcastle - gallery

Manchester United have made it their priority to sign a new striker in the final month of the summer transfer window, but it is far easier said than done.

United have already missed out on their preferred option Liam Delap to Chelsea, while Ruben Amorim's dream candidate Viktor Gyokeres joined Arsenal. The club also held a genuine interest in Hugo Ekitike before he joined Liverpool.

Benjamin Sesko was identified as the club's new top target last month, but they face fierce competition from Newcastle to sign the RB Leipzig star before deadline next on Monday 1 September. United have submitted an opening bid worth £73.85 million to sign the 22-year-old, which is lower than upfront fee Newcastle have offered for the striker.

There could be plenty of further twists and turns on the way, but here are six more strikers United could still sign this month if they are unable to land top target Sesko.
