It feels like the clock is ticking louder than ever for LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Will this be his last season, or will he continue to play for a few more years after that?
It’s anyone’s guess right now, but a recent statement from his agent, Rich Paul, had a lot of people talking.
According to Dave McMenamin, Paul’s statement about wanting to compete for another title before retirement was 100 percent legitimate and summarizes where James’ head is at.
“I’m told that the statement that Rich Paul gave to Shams Charania back in June when LeBron opted in still stands, that LeBron and his representatives will be monitoring the Lakers’ moves that they make because they recognize that there’s only a very limited amount of time left in his career and he wants to be competing for championships. Whatever time that is,” McMenamin said, per NBACentral.
LeBron James still wants to win another championship and is closely monitoring the Lakers’ moves, per @mcten

There is definitely limited time left for James, but how much?
He is signed with the Lakers through the end of next season, but what happens after that?
He could sign with the Lakers again, or he could move to any number of teams that would love to take him, despite his age.
James is a hugely impactful player, and his age isn’t a huge factor in what he does on the court.
There are many questions about the future, but the present is all about trying to win a title.
The Lakers made some impressive moves over the summer, and, of course, Luka Doncic improves their chances.
They are going to give it all they’ve got this year, and James will be watching closely.
If he likes what he sees, he could stick around, but if he is unhappy with LA’s front office, James could be on the move soon.
