Aston Villa could finally be set to get their first major acquisition of the summer transfer window over the line, according to reports - with the west Midlands outfit having reached an agreement with French outfit Nice for 'elite' striker Evann Guessand.
Villa have only signed youngster Yasin Ozcan from Turkish side Kapimpasa, backup goalkeeper Marco Bizot and youth player Zepiqueno Redmond on a free transfer from Feyenoord this summer, with little to say in terms of permanent outgoings, with Philippe Coutinho being the highest-profile exit, alongside fellow fringe players Robin Olsen and Kortney Hause.

The report by Footmercato journalist Santi Aouna states that there has been a 'total' agreement between the Premier League giants and the Ligue 1 side for his transfer, which could reach north of £30million if add-ons are hit - and there has also been an agreement found with the player as a deal moves closer to completion, which would massively bolster Unai Emery's striking ranks.
