Liverpool wrapped up their friendlies this summer with victories over Athletic Club at Anfield on Monday.

Arne Slot’s side will take on Crystal Palace at Wembley on Sunday for the FA Community Shield.

While there have been a number of changes to the squad this summer, Liverpool continue to be linked with several players.

Alexander Isak is a major target for the Reds, and with reports suggesting that Newcastle United could be close to getting an answer on Benjamin Sesko, there might be some more movement in the coming weeks.

Darwin Nunez could be on his way out of the club amid interest from the Saudi Pro League as well as AC Milan.

The Liverpool forward has been in fine form in pre-season, scoring five goals for the Reds.

While the men’s team continue to strengthen, the women’s team are also keen on bolstering their squad and extending the contracts of key players.

Liverpool FC Women’s Hannah Silcock has signed a new contract with the club.

The 20-year-old has come through the ranks to feature 18 times for the Reds’ senior team across all competitions.

Silcock joined the Reds at the age of eight and made her senior debut during the FA Women’s Championship-winning season of 2021-22.

Silcock, who made eight appearances for Liverpool last season, has represented the England U23 side.

Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, she said: “It’s really exciting. I’ve been at the club a long while, so to extend my stay is exciting.

“I think all the time you’re a player in the academy you’re pushing to get to the first team.

“To get there when I was 16 and 17 and get some minutes was good. Now I feel like I’m really part of the team and I can push that on further next season.”

She added: “I know that I can, I just need to keep pushing myself and hopefully get some opportunities.”
