Manchester United have reportedly received approaches to take long-serving defender Harry Maguire away from the club over the past weeks of the transfer window, according to reports - though manager Ruben Amorim will be keeping him in his squad, with United set to instead extend his stay at the club despite interest.
Maguire initially struggled in parts at the Theatre of Dreams, but in their worst Premier League years to date over the past two seasons, he's been one of United's most reliable and consistent performers, prompting interest from elsewhere - though he now seems set to stay at the 13-time Premier League champions after a rebuffal.

Maguire joined United six years ago from Leicester City in an £80million move, which was a then-world record fee for a defender before Josko Gvardiol's move from RB Leipzig to local rivals Manchester City eclipsed it four years later.
The report further states that despite approaches from teams in the top-flight of England and Italy, those who asked about his potential arrival were told that the likelihood is that Maguire will spend the rest of his career at Old Trafford, being likely to extend his contract as a result.
Whether that happens remains to be seen, though a trio of English clubs and two from Italy will be hoping that isn't the case after being turned away. Maguire, 32, is currently on £190,000-a-week, with his contract set to expire at the end of next season at present - though it's thought that he would be keen to stay at United and potentially even earn a testimonial should he remain at the club for another four years.
No talks have begun just yet over his contract extension, but the message to those interested was more of a stern notice of their stance in their bid to keep the former Sheffield United star, who has made 246 official appearances for the club.
