Report: Everton are now to 'step up their interest' in exciting forward after suffering Tyler…

Everton’s pursuit to sign Southampton prospect Tyler Dibling hit the rocks on Tuesday.

David Moyes has given his recruitment team the hurry up whilst away on pre-season duty in the United States.

Now, back on home soil, Everton need to really step up their efforts in the transfer window, with the new season kicking off in a matter of days.

Moyes is pushing Everton to make more signings, as he has been left with the real concern that his squad is just not ready to compete in the Premier League.

“We’ve probably had since the last game of the season, and I don’t know what, five weeks, six weeks, certainly, probably more than that,” he said last week.

“So we’ve got to start getting moving on, because it won’t be long until [it] starts to become a bit close to the end of the window.”

This has seen Everton make numerous bids for Dibling, all of which have been rebuffed, with the Blues now considering their options.

Naturally, Everton will have to consider their next move over the young winger, and it seems as if they are ready to walk away from the deal.

According to TalkSPORT, Everton are not willing to budge in their pursuit of Dibling after hearing the staggering new asking price from the Saints.

It is even suggested the Toffees are now considering focusing their efforts on landing Jack Grealish from Manchester City.

Prior to the Dibling development on Tuesday afternoon, it was expected that Grealish’s situation would go down to the wire this summer.

This may now have suddenly changed, with Everton keen to sign a new forward after hitting a major stumbling block over Dibling.

Everton will face fierce competition for Grealish

It has been suggested Tottenham Hotspur will make their own move for Grealish this summer.

That interest from north London may have ramped up over recent days following the injury sustained to James Maddison on Sunday.

Moyes is keen to sign Grealish at Everton, and the 62-year-old is expected to try and sell a move to Merseyside to the City forward.

It would mark a real coup by the Friedkins if Everton could land Grealish.

However, if they were to miss out on him, then it would become interesting to see whether the interest in Dibling would pick back up again.
